Abstract

1287530 Suspended furnace roofs ROTABLOCK Ltd 19 April 1971 [28 April 1970 9 Oct 1970] 20238/70 and 48196/70 Heading F4B In a suspended furnace roof, generally rectangular blocks C have inclined end faces 26, 24 and are suspended from secondary supports B carried by beams A so that each block can be pivoted about a support B independently of the other blocks. The secondary supports B rest on the beams A between brackets 12 and spaced apart by the length of a block C. Each block C is secured by hangers 30, embedded in or integral with the block, to a carrier 32 having a single front hook 34 opening downwardly and two spaced rear hooks 33 opening rearwardly so that the block can be tilted about the rearmost support B. Rebates at the front, rear and side edges of the blocks allow the use of jointing blocks 29, 28. In a modification, shown in dotted lines in Fig. 4, the front and rear faces of each block is stepped as at 50, 51 to avoid the use of the transverse jointing blocks.
