Abstract
1285519 Printing surfaces BAPTIST BACHER KG 18 June 1971 [19 June 1970] 28723/71 Heading B6C Apparatus for mounting gripper means 3, 4 for securing a printing plate 2 on a cylinder 1 comprises devices for adjusting the gripper 3, 4 both circumferentially and axially of the cylinder. In circumferential adjustment, a screw-threaded pin 8 passing through a radial projection 7, Fig. 1, on the cylinder 1 is threaded into the gripper part 3. On the opposite side of the projection 7 to the gripper, the pin 8 is threaded into a check nut 9 and an adjustment nut 10. A graduated scale 12 on an extension 11 of the nut 10 co-operates with a scale 13 on a sleeve secured to the pin. For axial adjustment, a projecting part 19, Fig. 6, is secured by screws 18 to the gripper part 3 and has screwed into it an axially-extending threaded pin 20. Engaging the pin 20 is a nut 22 bearing at one end against a stop 21 on the cylinder 1 and at the other end having an extension 23 with a peripheral scale 24 which co-operates with a scale 26 provided on a sleeve attached to the the pin 20. At the other end of the part 19 is a screw threaded pin 27 having nuts 28, 29, the latter bearing against an additional stop 30 on the cylinder. The other end of the printing plate 2 to that engaged by the gripper 3, 4, is clamped by conventional gripper devices 31, 32.
