Abstract
888,595. Micrometer gauge heads. ROCH S.a.r.L., PIERRE. Aug. 31, 1959 [Oct. 6, 1958], No. 29700/59. Addition to 790,187. Class 106 (2). A micrometer gauge head comprises a graduated drum 2, a body 5, 11 provided with a groove 12 parallel to the axis of the drum 2, a micrometric nut 6 and screw 3 secured to the body 5 and the drum 2, respectively, a sleeve 7 having at least one datum mark (not shown) and a key 26 mounted to move along the groove 12, a second key 13 mounted on a segment 20 and capable of movement along the groove, a spring 19 to secure the sleeve 7 axially to the drum 2 and a second spring 22 secured both to the sleeve 7 (through a member 24) and to the segment 20. It is stated that this arrangement provides means for obtaining a constant measuring pressure if the torque exerted on the driver 4 does not exceed a certain limit.
