Abstract

1284263 Mounting frames in walls W F GIBBONS 19 Sept 1969 [1 Oct 1968] 46481/68 Heading E1B A damp-proofing element used between window or door frames 16 and walls comprises main flanges 11 and 10 and a subsidiary flange 13 of less length than the second main flange projecting from the first main flange intermediate its ends. An angled extension 12 of flange 10 which abuts the inner face of the skin 15 of the wall may be omitted, the flange 10 then being extended to abut against the end face of the skin 15. The flange 13 may have its end portion bent over to engage a groove in the edge of the frame. A wooden reinforcement can be included between flanges 11 and 12 together with a channel closing the space between the flanges. The element may be a unitary extrusion or made up from various parts, in P.V.C. or bitumen-asbestos.
