1282515 Metal ribbon J H FLYNN 18 Sept 1969 45953/69 Heading E1K [Also in Division F4] A device producing jets of fluid, e.g. in burners, comprises at least two identical metallic ribbons of uniform width and thickness, each ribbon 22 having, over a part of its width and extending to one edge, spaced transverse corrugations 26, the remaining width being formed into leg portions 32, 34; the former extending away from the general plane of the ribbon and the latter forming a flat skirt 34 in a plane substantially parallel to that of the corrugations. When the ribbons are paired, their corrugations may be aligned to form burner discharge ports 20 and their skirts clamped in a slot 16 in a manifold 12. In a preferred ribbon assembly, the length of the ports is at least twice the width of the skirts and the ports are cylindrical. The leg portions preferably form a "U"-sectional channel directing fluid from the manifold to the ports.
