A gas burner comprises an elongated mixing chamber formed by two C-sectioned sheet metal members 5, 5a and by an M-sectioned plate 19 having outlet slots 20 traversing its middle part. The two C-sectioned members 5, 5a have lower abutting flanges 6, 6a and upper abutting flanges 8, 9 and are held together by the ends of the flanges 6a and 9 being bent over the ends of the other flanges 6 and 8. The M-plate 19 has side flanges which are received slidably in inwardly facing track-ways 15, 16 in the C-members 5, 5a.
