Abstract
1,151,954. Delivering glass sheet in continuous form. CORNING GLASS WORKS. 24 July, 1967, No. 33929/67. Heading C1M. In the delivery of a continuous, flat sheet of glass from a chamber 14 of molten glass down an inclined delivery channel 24, the glass sheet is constricted at its edges and permitted to return to its original width by side blocks extending from side portions 20, 22 of the channel 24, the side blocks having converging glass deflecting surfaces 26, 28 extending into the path of the glass to constrict the glass sheet and diverging surfaces 30, 32 downstream of the surfaces 26, 28, whereby the thickness of the glass sheet is rendered more nearly uniform.
