1280228 Hair dryer ROWENTA-WERKE GmbH 9 July 1969 [11 July 1968] 34499/69 Heading A5R A hair dryer comprises a housing 1 having an air inlet 2, an air outlet, an electric motor driven fan and electric heating unit, not shown, and a collapsible bonnet 5 which comprises stiff and flexible parts 6, 8 respectively, capable of being folded into a storage position wherein the components 6, 8, 9 of bonnets 5 lie within an open sided cavity extending to the housing between two spaced-apart walls thereof, and a mounting means 3 for detachably securing the housing to a standard. The bonnet 5 consists of two halves foldable outward from each side of the housing I, each half consisting of at least one reinforcing member 9 and a semi-circular plate 6 of the same material as the housing, members 6 and 9 being rotatable away from the plane through housing 1 through about 90‹ on pivoting means integral with and of the same material as plates 6. Housing 1 is provided with a member 4 to control the drying temperature and time, which member is visible from beneath the hair dryer. At least one of the reinforcing members 6, 9 is constructed as an air-discharge member. The hood 5 is placed into its storage position by rotating members 6 and 9 towards housing 1, the flexible material 8 folding between members 6 and 9. A modification Fig. 3 (not shown) has two reinforcing bows (10), (12) and two flexible parts e.g. (11) which bows are rotatable as previously. Bonnet 5 may be constructed with double walls and air ducts therebetween, not shown.
