Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a pressure loss at a cool or warm air distributor, by blowing off cool or warm air through an opening resulting from the fact that the blowoff port of a mode-shifting cylindrical damper casing and the opening of a mode-shifting damper are overlapped with each other because of the rotation of the damper. CONSTITUTION:A mode-shifting damper casing 10 is provided with a heating blowoff port 13 in the peripheral part and with a right foot blowoff port 15 and a left foot blowoff port 16 in both the sides. A right foot blowoff opening 25 is provided in one side of a mode-shifting damper 20. The other side of the damper 20 is provided with a flat wall 23 and a left foot blowoff opening 26. In the heating mode, a large amount of warm air is blown off through these blowoff ports and a small amount of warm air is blown off through a defroster blowoff port 11. Since the warm air for the ports 13, 15, 16 is directly introduced into the automobile room out of the damper casing 10 and the flow of the air is not changed thereafter, the pressure loss of the flow does not increase.
