Abstract

1416520 Ventilating units F H BIDDLE Ltd 29 Dec 1972 [31 Dec 1971] 61018/71 Heading F4V A ventilating unit mounted against an external wall of a building comprises a casing subdivided by a partition 11 into rear and front chambers 13, 12 communicating through a port 14 and having an air inlet 19 for atmospheric air and an air outlet 22, and a power driven fan 26 mounted in the chamber 12, at least parts of the chamber 13 being lined with sound insulating material 34, e.g. foam plastics. The fan 26 includes one or more centrifugal impellers driven by one or more electric motors and is mounted on a platform 15 having an opening(s) for the fan outlet(s). A pivoted damper 25 is provided to control air flow through the port 14 and a room air inlet 21. The chamber 12 may include a filter 30 and a heating or cooling heatexchanger 31. The inlets 19, 21, port 14 and outlet 22 each extend across substantially the whole width of the casing.
