Abstract
1278232 Spring upholstery H H NORMAN and S BALISKI 13 Jan 1970 [30 Jan 1969] 1532/70 Heading A4M [Also in Division F2] A mattress or the like comprises spread rows 25, 26 of springs, each row comprising a plurality of coil springs 27a, 27b formed from a continuous length of wire, successive coil springs 27a, 27b being inter-connected by Z-shaped elements 28, 29 of the wire which extend beyond the periphery of the coils and are disposed alternately in the planes of the upper and lower surfaces of the mattress. Adjacent rows 25, 26 are inter-connected by zig-zag wires 33a with loops 41, 43, 44, 46, which pivotally engage over the Z-shaped elements 28, 29. The spring assembly is secured to upper and lower border wires 22, Fig. 1 (not shown) or to upper and lower pairs of border wires, 52, 53, Fig. 12, braced by a zig-zag connector 54.
