Abstract

1372049 Spring upholstery LEAR SEIGLER Inc 22 Dec 1971 [18 Jan 1971] 59642/71 Heading A4M [Also in Division F2] A box spring assembly comprises spaced pairs of springs 22 extending between the sides 14 of a rectangular frame 12, each spring 22 including a straight portion 24 provided with fishmouth ends 26, and each spring 22 being formed in its straight portion 24 with spaced pairs of undulations 46 between which clips 47 are engaged to secure together the springs of each pair. One end of each spring 22 is secured to a frame side 14 and the opposite end to a transverse member 18 of the frame 12. The spring ends are clipped to a border wire 50 disposed above the frame 12. End springs 52 comprising a straight section and fishmouth ends are secured to ends 16 of the frame 12 and to the border wire 50. Longitudinal wires 54 are interlaced with and secured, at 57, to the springs 32 and are clipped, at 56, to the border wire 50. Arcuate corner springs 60 are provided.
