Abstract

1483433 Mattresses RUF-BETT-INTERNATIONAL K G 2 Sept 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 36177/75 Heading A4M A mattress comprises a body 1 of foamed polymeric material having in one face a plurality of parallel channels 2 extending across the width or length of the body, a foam padding layer 7 glued to said one face of the body 1, and a plurality coil springs 6 disposed in each channel 2 under a slight pre-compression between the layer 7 and the channel bottoms. The side walls of each channel 2 may be slightly mutually convergent towards the channel bottom. The springs 6 in each channel may be formed from a single wire to provide a row of series-connected springs. The row may be enclosed in a cloth sleeve.
