Abstract

1,268,888. Mattresses. OTTO BOCK ORTHOPADISCHE INDUSTRIE K. G. May 6, 1970 [May 7, 1969], No.21760/70. Heading A4M. A mattress comprises a base-plate 1 on which is secured a surround 2 of foamed material the space within which is filled by a plurality of single units 3 removably disposed side by side in abutting relationship. The units 3 may be square or rectangular and may be of mixed sizes. The units may be adapted to be self adhesive to be removably attached to the base-plate 1 and/or lateral surfaces of adjacent parts. The surround may support at one end a foamed head wedge 4 and at the opposite end a foamed block 5 with recesses 5a to receive the feet of the user. Leg supports 6 are aligned with the recesses 5a and are spaced from the end faces thereof to define a space which receives the user's heels.
