A spring cushion edge spring 16 comprises a trough-shaped member formed of V-shaped spring wires 18 joined by cords 20, 22, 24 of twisted paper with a spring core wire 26, the sinuous springs 10 of the cushion being connected to cord 22 by clips 42. Cord 20 is further padded by a flat strip 46 of paper layers folded longitudinally around the cord and secured by staples 48.
