1453627 Spring upholstery LEAR SIEGLER Inc 8 Jan 1974 [18 Jan 1973 19 Jan 1973] 00779/74 Heading A4M A box spring assembly comprising a frame formed by sides 44, ends 46 and intermediate members 48 includes a plurality of springs 20 each formed from a single wire to define a straight section 22 with a fishmouth section 24 at one or both ends, the ends being secured to one or a pair of the frame members 44, 46, 48 so that the straight portions 22 together define a supporting surface disposed above the frame, and the springs 20 being spaced apart such that no two springs contact each other. The springs 20 may be secured to connecting wires 50 as may be auxiliary border springs 62 and corner springs 66. Other embodiments Figs. 5-7 (not shown) describe variations in the mutual disposition of springs and frame members. The springs may be inter-connected by an assembly of wires and paper covered strands secured to the border wire.
