Abstract

127,692. Brame, W. A. May 2, 1918. Movable-abutment type; regulating pumps.- Apparatus for pumping and other purposes comprises two rotary members b, c on a spindle a provided with inner faces consisting of a half-right and a half-left screw-thread adapted to engage corresponding faces on a sliding member f arranged between them. As the member f is reciprocated spaces k<2> are alternately formed between it and the members b, c, and by connecting these spaces by passages k to inlet and delivery pipes, they may be used for pumping and like purposes. The members b, c, f are enclosed in a casing h to which the member f is slidably keyed. One or more of the members may be composed of two relatively movable sleeves f<1>, l for the purpose of varying the delivery by varying the volume of the spaces k. Any of the members may be formed of a number of transverse sections or of sections connected together. Only parts of the end surfaces of the members may be shaped as described above.
