Abstract
1,274,838. Lubricating. ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI. 30 June, 1970 [30 June, 1969], No. 31669/70. Heading F2A. [Also in Divisions D1 and F1] A knitting machine, for example, is lubricated via nozzles 26, 28, arms 21, 22, a line 20, a valve 17, a chamber 15, and a line 12, leading to a reservoir 13. Lubricant is drawn from the reservoir and forced to the nozzles 26, 28 by a piston 5 which is reciprocated in a cylinder 6 so as to deform a resilient bag 9. In use when a follower 3 engages the periphery of a rotating drum 1, the bag 9 is in its undeformed state and contains lubricant which has been sucked from the reservoir 13, and when the follower 3 is engaged by a raised portion 2 of the drum 1,the bag 9 is deformed by the piston 5, the latter being moved by a piston-rod 4 thereof which is connected to the follower 3. Lubricant forced out of the bag 9 passes through a line 11, into the chamber 15, and thence to the nozzles 26, 28. The lubricant is prevented from entering the reservoir 13 by means of a ball 16 in the chamber 15 and a ball 25 in the arm 21 acts between stops 23, 24 to meter lubricant to the nozzle 26. When the follower 3 again engages the drum 1, the piston 5 is moved away from the bag 9 by means of a spring 8 and the bag is again filled with lubricant.
