Abstract

1,274,371. Tables with folding legs. FORT SMITH TABLE & FURNITURE CO. Feb. 10, 1970 [Sept. 11, 1969], No. 6239/70. Heading A4H. A table top 11 has two fixed longitudinal aprons 14 and two pivotal side aprons 17 having legs 16 secured to them, the longitudinal aprons 14 having abutment faces 14 and 30 and the side aprons and legs being so connected to the longitudinal aprons by a link 35 that, in the erected position an inner face of the leg 16 abuts the abutment face 30 and, in the folded position, the inner face abuts the abutment face 14. The side aprons and legs are secured in both positions by a catch 40 acting on a pin 41 protruding from a bracket 32 attached to the side apron 17. The catch is attached to a pivotal tube 18 whose position is adjustable by a hook bolt 44 to take up play between the catch and pin and to ensure firm fixing in both positions. The link 35 has a pivot pin 37 attached to the longitudinal apron 14 and a pivot pin 36 attached to the bracket 32 and is so positioned that, when moving the leg from the erected to the folded position, the leg does not foul the corner 50 of the apron 14.
