Abstract

990,498. Bed stands. EVERED & CO. Ltd. April 14, 1964 [April 16, 1963], No. 14796/63. Heading A4J. An end board 10 of a bed frame is pivotable between horizontal and vertical positions, a pivotal connection being provided which comprises two parts 17a, 12 connected to the bed frame and board respectively. The part 12 consists of an outer member in which an inner member 13 slides telescopically a pin and slot connection 15, 16 being provided. The part 17a is connected by a pin 19 to a leg 18 having an extension 20 adapted to enter the outer member 12 when the board is in a horizontal position, Fig 5. A pivot pin 23 passes through the extension 20 and through a slot 26 in a tongue 25 formed on the inner member 13. When the extension 20 is withdrawn from the outer member 12 the board will be held in a vertical position by the tongue 25 bearing against the bottom 29 of a slot 21 formed in the extension 20.
