A table leg 1 is secured to a first bracket 3 hinged by a pin 6 to a second bracket 4 secured to the underside of a table top 2 and the brackets are locked in the supporting position of the table leg by an angle bracket 17 which is slid downwardly or by a bolt 19 which is slid from one side into aligned channels 9, 11 in the first and second brackets 3, 4. The angle bracket 17 may be secured to the underside of another table top to join two tables together or it can be on a make up piece (18) which can fit flush with the table top. The bolt 19 is held captive by a pin 21 passed through the second bracket 4 and a longitudinal slot 20 in the bolt.
