A table has folding legs each comprising three steel rods 14, 16, 18 connected together at the foot, two rods 14, 16 being pivoted to a mounted plate 20 and the third rod 18 being connected thereto by a channel-section link 26 pivoted to rod 18 by a pin and to mounting plate 20 so that in the erect position the link 26 is swung past dead-centre position until its lower edge abuts the rod 18 thus forming a self-locking toggle joint. The table top 10 has hinged halves.
