Abstract

1,273,530. Unit heating or cooling devices; thermal storage heaters. NORTH WESTERN ELECTRICITY BOARD. 13 June, 1969 [15 June, 1968], No. 28615/68. Headings F4U and F4V. An air heating or cooling unit comprises a thermal storage heater 1, a fan 2, an air mixing chamber 9 and a casing 10 in which may be mounted an evaporator 14 and which includes an inlet 11 provided with air deflector vanes 13. Air is blown or drawn through the heater 1 by the fan 2. The heater is controlled by a charge control thermostat 5 and thermal cut out. A damper 19 closes an air outlet 8 of the heater when the evaporator 14 is operative. The evaporator includes a condensate drain. A temperature sensor 16 in an air distribution duct 15 controls the heater 1 to maintain a predetermined air outlet temperature.
