Abstract

1,270,850. Asceptic pouch; packaging. TOWER PRODUCTS Inc. 22 Aug., 1969 [26 Aug., 1968], No. 41962/69. Headings B8C and B8K. A pouch or envelope comprises a single sheet of material 10 folded medially along line 13 or two sheets of material sealed together along line 13, the material comprising a mixture of high density polyethylene and 30-35% by weight of polyisobutylene which has been melted at a temperature of 520-580‹ F. The material 10 is sealed adjacent its side edges at 14, 15 and along a transverse line 16. An article is placed in the pouch, the end 18 is sealed at (19), and the package is sterilized. Notches 17 are provided for opening the folded end of the package, the article being removed by peeling the seal lines 14, 15, 16.
