Abstract
1,270,218. Cobalt based alloy. CREUSOT-LOIRE April 29, 1970 [May 9, 1969], No.20547/70. Heading C7A. A precipitation-hardening, weldable workable cobalt base alloy consists of in percent by weight: Co remainder apart from unavoidable impurities and being at least 35%. Also present may be B, Zr and Hf in total no more than 0À1%, 1-2% manganese, up to 0À5% silicon. In the examples S, P and Fe are present as impurities. The alloy may be homogenized by solution heat treatment for 1 to 2 hours at 1050-1225‹C, and then tempered at 700-800‹C. for 12-24 hrs. The alloy may be used in gas turbines and aircraft engines.
