[Also in Divisions Cl and F3] In a fire-extinguisher the means for driving the contents thereof comprises a propellant cartridge housed in a metal holder 10, the cartridge having a plastics casing 9 with weakened zones 8 which are destroyed by the combustion gases from a propellant charge 11. A percussion cap 1 and priming composition 12 are provided to ignite the propellant charge. The gases pass into the extinguisher along ducts defined by external ribs of the casing 9 and the wall of the holder 10.
