Abstract

1,268,742. Latches. AISIN SEIKI K.K. 9 Feb., 1970 [8 Feb., 1969; 19 Feb., 1969], No. 6051/70. Heading E2A. In a car door latch, the rotary latch bolt 2 has an integral pivot pin 2a and a radial slot 2b for engaging the striker pin B2, this slot also being used to engage a locking detent 3 in the lock A. This detent is of cylindrical form having a part 3b cut away and its. cylindrical part turns in a bore in the housing, but the part-cylindrical active end is supported against shock by turning in a hemicylindrical depression 1b. The rotary detent 3 first engages safety latching notch 2c 'and then the main slot, at 2d. The detent 3 is rotated and locked or unlocked by means of a suitable linkage (Figs. 3, 4 and 5, not shown).
