Abstract

1,268,609. Centrifugal casting of composite articles. INGENIEURBURO SCHIFFBAU VEB. 2 March, 1971, No. 5790/71. Heading B3F. In a centrifugal casting process in which an insert 5 is to be incorporated into the cast product 4, the insert 5 is supported in a sandlined chill mould 1 by supports carrying counterweights 7 embedded in the sand lining 3. Fixing points 8 for the counterweights may be provided on an intermediate ring container 2. The shape and mass of the counterweights is such that there is no variation in the position of the insert during the casting process.
