Abstract
1,130,500. Centrifugal casting in lined moulds; composite casting of brakes or cylinders. TEVES-THOMPSON & CO. G.m.b.H. 3 Oct., 1967 [11 Oct., 1966], No. 45029/67. Heading B3F. [Also in Division C3] Rough-surfaced basic elements (for receiving a pressure cast metal by composite casting) are made by centrifugal casting in a chill mould having (a) a lining of synthetic resin and finegrained sand, and (b) a further layer of synthetic resin and coarse sand between whose grains the cast metal can penetrate. The cast elements may be iron cylinder liners or brake rings. The chill mould may be cylindrical and the elements cast as one long piece to be cut into a number of shorter elements.
