Abstract

1363893 Rollers MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERN & CO KG 10 Nov 1971 [10 Nov 1970] 52190/71 Heading F2U A roller (e.g. of a press for granular material) comprises a core 2 encircled by a ring of segments 6 having at their radially inner surface interengaging projections 14, 18, 20 and recesses 24, 16, 22. As shown, the segment outer surfaces are rectangles of circumferential extent α, the inner surfaces are as in Fig. 3. The segment ends may be stepped to be encircled by a heat-shrunk securing ring within the cylinder of the surface 26. The segments may be chill cast. The segments may alternatively be secured by screws.
