Abstract

567,069. Rollers for moulding presses. TAPPING, F. F. March 31, 1943, No. 5160. [Class 87 (ii)] A roller comprises a cylindrical central driving' hub, an outer ring consisting of segmental halfmould plates, each extending longitudinally from end to end of the hub, means for locating each plate in position on the hub, and spring clips at each end to secure each plate to the hub. Three examples are given: (1) (Figs. 1 and 2). Plates 5 have ribs 6 which fit into grooves 2 on the roller, and studs 8 threaded into the plates at 7 have eyes through which pass spring clips 12. (2) (Fig. 4, not shown). The plates are located by dowels and secured by tension spring clips sprung into recesses in the plates and in the hub. (3) (Fig. 5). The plates 5 have tongues 5b which fit between studs 16 on the hub and are secured by clips 17. There may be a plurality of rows of moulding recesses in each half-mould plate.
