Abstract

1,223,956. Casting processes. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 5 June, 1969 [11 June, 1968], No. 28541/69. Heading B3F. A brake disc is east so that it has at least two peripherally spaced surface regions of lesser hardness than the remaining surface portions of the disc, by forming the disc in a mould which has the same number of ingates as the desired number of regions of lesser hardness. The regions of lesser hardness are preferably equally spaced and are located at positions corresponding to those of the ingates cast initially with the disc.
