1348051 Centrifugal casting INGENIEURBURO SCHIFFBAU VEB 2 March 1971 5788/71 Heading B3F A method of casting an asymmetric body, such as a large 2-stroke cylinder liner, comprises forming the shape of the body in a sandlined mould 3 and forming communicating cavities 5 such that the mould is balanced when full of the cast material and subsequently removing the pieces of unwanted material. The latter may be used for testing. The cavities may contain a material which burns without residue or be lined with sheet metal.
