Abstract

1,267,189. Flexible hinge. I. ARCHENHOLTZ. 12 Jan., 1971, No. 1548/71. Heading E2F. A hinge assembly comprises two hinged members, a vertical door frame 1 and a door 2, the door 2 having its edge facing the frame shaped in a convex surface 3. Two equal elongated strip shaped connecting elements made of flexible material are disposed in spacedparallel relation to one another along the generatrix of surface 3. A strap 4 is attached to the frame 1 by screws 5 and engages the frame at one side of surface 3, and is attached to the door by screws 6, thus engaging the door 2 on the opposite side of the surface 3. Interposed between the straps 4 is a strap 7 attached to the opposite sides of the frame 1 and door 2. In a further embodiment the curved surface 3 may comprise a curve formed with two different radii of curvature.
