1310419 Cable casing O W THORSMAN 26 June 1970 31157/70 Heading H2C An external protective plastics casing on an underground cable has longitudinal corrugations of sawtooth or castellated profile which interlock at the overlapping edges and accommodate external stresses by elastic deformation. The outside surface of the casing may be smooth (Fig. 4, not shown) but with corrugations at the edge to engage when the edges overlap. The plastics material may be coloured and the corrugations which may be reinforced by wires 5 can assist in cooling the cable.
