Abstract

The suitcase or trunk consists of a rigid base (1) and a lid (2) with a frame (3). The lid and the base are articulated by hinges (4). The corners (5, 6, 7, 8) are rounded and at least those near the hinges have protective bands (10, 11, 12, 13). These bands are relatively thick and elastic and are fixed on both the lid and the base, parallel to the plane of opening. They constitute at the same time protective bands and feet when the case is standing. The bands can be fixed to each corner or can extend round each side to cover them all.
