Abstract

1455409 Lintel and canopy assembly BIRTLEY MFG Ltd 29 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 49610/72 Headings E1B E1K and E1W A canopy and lintel assembly comprises a canopy 2 secured to the front face 15 of a lintel below the lip 18 of the lintel damp proof tray 6. The lintel is identical to that disclosed in Specification 1454367. The canopy has a roof 19, an upstanding flange 21 along one edge which locates below a lip 18 on the lintel, and depending flanges 20 along the other edges. In another embodiment all the edges have depending flanges, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), and a panel, which may be translucent or transparent, is secured to the depending flanges with an electric light between the panel and the roof. The canopy may be moulded from galvanised sheet steel or from glass fibre reinforced plastics with metal reinforcing inserts 23 and gussets 24.
