Abstract

1,267,159. Super-charging and cooling I.C. engines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURGNURNBERG A.G. Feb.27, 1970 [Feb. 28, 1969], No.9733/70. Heading F1B. The cylinder rows 1, 2 of a V-engine have disposed therebetween a tubular frame 3 forming a cooling water discharge conduit for the cylinders and supporting a plurality of exhaust-gas driven turbo-super-chargers 4. The longitudinal tubes 5, 6 of the frame 3 are connected by plates 11 on which the super-chargers 4 are mounted and the tubes are supported on the top 15 of the engine crank-case by shells 14. Holders 12 for fuel, oil, starting air and hydraulic fluid conduits are secured to the tubes 5, 6. The engine exhaust conduits 16 extend below the frame 3. (For Figure, see next page)
