Abstract
1,224,706. I.C. engine frames; cylinders. UNITED DIESEL A.B. May 28, 1969 [July 5, 1968], No.26958/69. Heading F1B. [Also in Division F2] An I.C. engine has a cylinder liner 4 with a flange 9 retained between a cooling water jacket 5 and a cover 6 locked together as a self contained unit by bolts 10 and mounted on the frame by at least four bolts extending from the cover outside an annular part 7 of the jacket 5. Connecting rods 14 have their big ends divided on a central plane 15 to assist dismantling. Liners 4 have recesses 16 which retain bars for locating the connecting rod during assembly. Conduits 18, 19 convey cooling fluid and lubricant and fluid leakages are collected by member 17 and conveyed to an outlet 20.
