[Also in Divisions E1 and E2] A frame 2 of a door &c. guard screen of metal, plastics or wood insertable between the sides 4 of the doorway or in a stall for small animals and having adjustable projections 11, 12 has these projections 11, 12 connected to the frame 2 by means of links 5 which are pivotable on the frame and on a bar, 9, 10 which carries projections 11, 12 or 13, 14, the links having a limited amount of pivoting, so arranged that when the links are substantially horizontal and in their dead-centre positions, the links, having recesses in the webs 21 corresponding to the sections of bars 9, 10, contact the bars and frictionally prevent downward movement of the frame 2 but on lifting the frame upwards, the webs 21 disengage from the bars 9, 10 and free the frame and enable the whole assembly of frame bars and projections to be unlocked from the supports 4. The link may be provided with an extension for manipulation (Fig. 3) or a stop may be secured to the top rail to engage the top link and prevent downward movement of the frame (Fig. 4) or a horizontally adjustable stop or pin may be provided in the top rail of the frame to contact the adjacent link and prevent movement thereof.
