Abstract

1,265,704. Tear-open cartons with handles. RINALDO & JOHANSSON A.B. 14 Aug., 1969 [6 June, 1969], No. 40797/69. Heading B8P. A carton has a tear-open area 24 and a handle 18 located on opposite sides of a main axis 23 passing through the centre of gravity of the carton. The carton is erected from a blank comprising side wall panels 1-4 defined by crease lines (5) and flap panels (7-10) forming end walls 6 and defined by cuts (11) and crease lines (12). The top end flap panel (10) consists of two superposed panel elements (10a, 10b), the outermost panel element (10a) having an opening defining a recess (14), housing the handle 18. The handle 18 is riveted at each end to panel 10 and at at least one end has an elongate slot 19 engaging the rivet 20. The tearopen area 24 is defined by an endless perforation line 27 and a crease line 25 in panel (10a).
