Abstract

1,260,238. Radiators. D. MILES. 1 Oct., 1970 [3 July, 1969], No. 33569/69. Heading F4S. A central heating radiator comprises a zig-zag duct to which front and rear plates 5 and 6 are secured to define a plurality of channels for the passage of air. The duct is formed from two parallel sheets 7 and 8 which may be pressed into engagement at vertically spaced intervals to form horizontal waterways (10, Fig. 4) extending between vertical headers 2. The radiator is secured to a wall by means of support brackets (17, Fig. 9). A vent plug (22, Fig. 11) is provided at the upper end of a header 2 to release air trapped when the radiator is initially filled up. The radiator may include a top cover (23, Fig. 13) formed with louvred apertures (25, Fig. 12). The front and rear plates 5 and 6 may be louvred if required. The zig-zag duct, which is made of metal or glass reinforced plastics material, can have a wave formation.
