Abstract
1,258, 755. Flux for preventing oxidation of molten metal. IMPERIAL SMELTING CORP. (ALLOYS) Ltd. March 27, 1969 [April 9, 1968], No. 17035/68. Headings C7D and C7M. Molten Zn, Pb, Sn, Al or alloys thereof are covered with a molten flux layer consisting of or containing as a predominant component either sodium aluminium chloride or a mixture of sodium aluminium chloride and sodium chloride. The flux may also contain alkali or alkaline earth metal halides such as KCl and Na 3 AlF 6 . The flux may be used in recovering Zn from Zn dust, Al from furnace dross and Te from Pb.
