Abstract

125,844. Barker, M. July 15, 1918. Shackles.-A detachable link or shackle for a tractor coupling is constructed of two parts A<1>, A<2> with flattened and perforated ends, two ends B', B<2> connected by a non-withdrawable pin or roller C and two ends E<1>, E<2> by a withdrawable pin F also holding the ends of a loop G for purposes of connexion. The detachable shackle is combined with a C-shaped spring link J<1> adapted to hold the roller of the shackle by resilience until the strain reaches a predetermined maximum.
