125,833. Cooney, T. June 28, 1918. Boilers, superheating in steam and water spaces of.-The tubes of a superheater fitted in a locomotive or other boiler are passed through watertubes in the fire-box. The superheating tubes 2 passing through water tubes 4 arranged across a locomotive fire-box a are connected to saturated and dry steam chambers 1, 5 in the steam space between the inner and outer fire-box shells. The rows of water-tubes take the place of the usual brick fire-bridge. The water-tubes are expanded or screwed into readily removable plates 10 on the sides of the fire-box.
