Abstract
1,253,692. Railway vehicle line couplings. GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT. 7 Jan., 1969, No. 993/69. Heading B7T. On a railway vehicle provided with a central buffer coupling and having associated therewith pipe-line couplings with pipe shut off valves operable manually from either side of the vehicle by means of a rod 3, there are provided means to hold said rod in the valve closed position, said means comprising rod end bearings 4, 4<SP>1</SP> which each support by a stud 7, a vertically slidable lock plate 8 through which the rod extends, the rod having rigidly secured to each end a handle which when rotated from the valve-open position A to the valve-closed position B rotates said rod, the lever being prevented from returning by a nose 11 thereon contacting a stop 9 on the plate 8. To release the handle, it is further rotated until the plate 8 falls, thus allowing the handle to be returned to position A. (For Figures see next page.)
