Abstract
1,224,215. Valves. GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT. 30 April, 1968, No. 20384/68. Heading F2V. Movement of drawbar 15 to the right, e.g. in response to the coupling of two rail vehicles, rotates arm 12 which, via spring-loaded pin 21, initially rotates rocker 8 to release piston 9 for rightward movement by spring 7 to operate air valves on shaft 2. Further movement of arm 12 releases rocker 8 and spring 14 returns the rocker to the position shown where it can latch piston 9 upon return of the latter when shaft 2 is rotated manually. Rightward movement of the piston is damped by restricted vent 17 by-passed by check valve 18. With the piston latched, the rod 5 can move through the piston to allow manual rotation of shaft 2. In a modification, pin 21 is replaced by a tooth integral with arm 12 and the latter has limited radial play on pivot 11.
