Abstract
1314438 Operating central buffer couplings GERMANY MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT 2 Dec 1970 57266/70 Heading B7T An arrangement which allows manual or automatic release of the bolt of the lock of an automatic central buffer coupling using respectively either the usual actuating shaft (not shown) or a drive unit 1, consists of a spindle 3 operatively connected at one end to the bolt and having at its other end a plate 4 carrying a pin 6 and member 15, the drive unit, comprising a piston and cylinder device, being connected with the pin 6 to operatively rotate the spindle 3 by a slotted bar 10, and the actuating shaft being connected to a driver 7 rotatably mounted on the end of spindle 3 and provided with a tooth 8 which engages pin 6. On automatic operation the piston causes rotation of pin 6 in the direction of arrow A to rotate spindle 3, and on manual operation the driver 7 is rotated causing the pin 6 to move in a slot 11 in bar 10 by the engagement of tooth 8 and again rotate spindle 3.
