Abstract
1381611 Trip mechanisms for valves CARRIER CORP 31 Jan 1972 [26 April 1971] 4475/72 Heading F2V A trip mechanism for closing a valve controlling the flow of fluid to a turbine, comprises a pivoted lever 15, Fig. 1, extending through the box-shaped head 12 of the valve stem 1 and held against closing movement under the action of a spring 19 by a restraining lever 25 which is arranged to be disengaged from the lever 15 by a cam 33 in response to a signal from the turbine. The cam 33 is mounted on a pivoted arm 34, Fig. 2, which is held in a horizontal position by a pivoted latch 70. The latch is released by the armature 57 of a solenoid 60 or by pneumatic or hydraulic means in response to the signal from the turbine. The latch can be re-set manually.
