Abstract
1,100,107. Valves. LUCIFER S.A. 13 Oct., 1965 [20 Oct., 1964], No. 43462/65. Heading F2V. To ensure fluid-tightness and avoid uneven wear in a lift valve for high pressures, the valve member 4, 6 is carried floatingly by a carrier 2 and has at least four degrees of freedom. As shown, in addition to the opening and closing movement it is free laterally in the carrier and can rotate. A closure part 6 is of tempered steel or synthetic stone and is at least as hard as the seat 10. At least three veering points 11 are provided either on the valve member or on a seat member 9. These points are outside the area of the seat 10 and are engaged by the co-operating member when the valve member is closed on to the flat seat 10. The carrier 2 can be actuated electromagnetically. In one modification, the seat 10 is below the level of the veering points, and in another modification the veering points (22) are on the valve member and the seat is above the level of these points in closed position.
